To perform this devotion, Spiritual power is needed; faith and hope for the Lord and His Word are needed. Even the great preacher apostle Paul required somebody’s prayers, the more we need.

The travail

I can write much about the number of prayers and fasts, the number of sleepless nights; spiritual, physical strength and material expenditure are spent on this ministry, but is it necessary? Though I can partly write about it. In our human society (in Ukraine) a woman, who gave birth to five children, is called the mother-heroine, what does "the travail" mean? It means something not ordinary, not every person can dare to do it; for example: millions of people fight in the war, but only a few people become heroes. Let's speak about it more detail: a woman bears a kid for nine months; it means that she feels discomfort, sometimes with pains and different kinds of emotional experience; and what about childbirth? How much strength, efforts, not only physical, but spiritual! Think, please, every woman in a family having many children has three-four and more children, who is too small, who needs to be looked after. Of course, a husband takes care of them and the oldest children help. On the one hand it's a difficult manual labour, a hard material expenditure; on the other hand, misunderstanding of other people (often unbelievers); a woman often comes into collision with humiliation and frank insults. But some people pity such women: "It's pity for you, you are young, beautiful woman; what will be with you in ten years…and etc. "According to the Bible Peter was pity for Jesus and he said to him not to go to the cross. Jesus had enough strength and hardness and He said: "Get thee behind me, Satan ;thou art an offence unto me, for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." (St.Matthew 17:23) God give our wives mothers, daughters such hardness!
